Training and developmentWe are committed to providing continuous learning to help you grow both personally and professionally. 

Training and development needs are reviewed and planned at appraisal and via the Check-in process, which encourages regular conversations between employees and line managers. 

We offer a range of training to support professional, skills and wellbeing including: 

  • Internal and external courses providing technical/specialist training relating to the knowledge/skills needed for a specific job/profession. 
  • Post entry training programmes leading to a professional or academic qualification.
  • Using the Apprenticeship Levy to upskill apprentices and current employees.
  • Training to develop, refresh and improve management and leadership skills. 
  • In-house training to address specific issues applicable to large groups of employees.
  • The Surrey Learn Partnership which provides access to a wide range of virtual and in-person development opportunities. 
  • Encouraging individuals to develop their scope, skills, knowledge and understanding of their job by seeking and asking for coaching, mentoring and shadowing opportunities.
